RE: AC power loss, need help.

I'm no longer at the CG so I can't check the outlet. Can I check the shore power cord without waiting to hook up to another 50amp box?

AC power loss, need help.

Lets see if you can figure this one out.
I was hooked up to the city 50amp outlet last weekend and every thing was fine until in the evening with the front A/C shut off along with the Microwave and rear TV.
I checked the breakers and fuses and everything was good. I also disconnected the 50amp plug and turned on the generator....everything came back on line as it should. Then I shut down the Generator and plugged back in the city power but this time I plugged into the 30amp and once again everythoing came on line. So what would cause the 50amp not to work?

Replacing Jack knife sofa.

I have a Jack knife sofa that I would rather upgrade to a Queen size sleeper bed. The Jack knife is simply not large enough for two adults to sleep comfortably....:S
Any recommendation on where I can find the whole bed not just a mattress... :@
Thanks

RE: Can't cool motorhome

If you think that's hot - try going to India during the Summer - 125 degrees with 95 percent humity - after 30 minutes you are as miserable as you have ever felt and then you are surrounded by a million people who have no concept of 'personal space', so you are jostled and pushed by everyone. You are then choked by the traffic fumes and polution.
:)
Are you sure you haven't died and gone to......well you know:E

RE: Can't drain potable water

Run a hose into your filler hose and attach it to an outside auxiliary pump. I wouldn't suggest using the house pump because if you are trying to drain the entire tank that would really put allot of load on a small pump and could easily burn it out. They are not meant for constant usage....

RE: Can't cool motorhome

Whats wrong with 85deg's during the day? run around outside for a couple of minutes in the 100+ heat and when you go back into the coach it will feel cool..:)
More importantly what is the temp at night......Night time temp's are more important I would think...

RE: Konis are on

My coach has no air bags, it simply has shocks and leaf springs, not even a steering dampener. I was first interested in adding air bags and then was told that replacing the shocks with the Koni FSD's would be a better choice for improving ride and handling. I still haven't made up my mind as to which is the better avenue to follow.

RE: F53 suspension and steering upgrades?

I get allot of wheel wobble between 30 and 50mph. It seems as thou any road bumps or unevenness causes the wheels to wobble.
I believe a steering dampener would help minimize the wobble. I also get allot of sway when making turns or when driving on uneven surfaces which I do allot..
I’m also looking for something that would soften the ride especially considering some of the roads I drive on…..:S

F53 suspension and steering upgrades?

I was wondering if anyone has done any suspension and steering upgrades on their F53 chassis?
In particular steering dampeners and air bag additions to the leaf springs......

RE: Anyone cancelling trips due to gas prices?

Vacationing is way too important to cancel simply because of fuel prices. We make concessions in other areas to help offset the additional travel costs. We cook more while camping rather than eating out and we spend longer times in the CG. We also do allot of camping closer to home and only take a couple of longer trips each year. Plan, plan, plan…calculate what you’re willing to spend on fuel, figure out the travel radius to stay within the desired fuel budget and then GO!

Quitting v.s retiring?

We had a 62 year old gentleman retire a couple of weeks ago who had been employed for 12 years. He was given a retirement party and gifts. We had another gentleman who was 72 years old quit work after the same 12 years of service but no party or gifts.
The gentlemen who retired went back to work a week later at another company yet the 72 year old gentleman still remains unemployed.
This brings up the question, what are the differences between quitting and retiring? From the employers point of view you are losing two long term employees so whether one claims retirement and the other quits the end result is the same......
Can someone clear this up for me?

RE: Pre-paid Toll road charges....

IAVE system does work. I used it during our month long trip. The trick to getting one is you need a bank account in Mexico. The IAVE system automatically withdraws the funds from your account. It is great to drive up to the toll booth and have thgem wave you on because there is no need to stop.
If you thinking about your toll booth reciept, when using the IAVE system all you do is shown the IAVE to anyone asking for the paper reciept. You are still covered.
The IAVE system is not used on 100% of the toll booths so you will need to stop at some of them and pay as usual but they are far and few between.

Looking for a Dinghy

I've decided I need to start looking for a good overall Dinghy for towing behind my RV.
I prefer something small with a standard trans so I can flat tow. Do you have suggestions on make, model and year?
A small sedan or SUV, either will work. Must be under 5000lbs
Thanks,

RE: Health Care in Mexico

There are several good medevac insurance programs which are quite reasonable which will fly you to a hospital in the states along with your spouse, will take your RV and animals back to the US---sure the same is available in Canada. Great peace of mind.
Have talked with several tourists who have had to shell out $25-50,000 to get airevaced back to the US. One gal had broken her neck while body surfing at Sayulita. Fortunately her boyfriend could max out his credit cards to get her to good help. Have heard good words about the university hospitals in Guad. & Mexico City.
Do you have a web site for the medevac insurance program you referenced?

RE: Health Care in Mexico

My brother-in-law broke his leg and it cost him 40,000 pesos up front before they would do anything. Yes he had Mexican medical insurance yet it still cost him the 40,000 pesos.
